This course has been developed and delivered by a Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse and Occupational Health Advisor. She is also a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine Long-Covid Group. This course has been delivered to over 80 people with very positive feedback.

The course aims to give you the best available health professional advice on what is Long Covid, how is it diagnosed, what the range of symptoms are, looks at two of the most limiting symptoms and gives advice on how to manage them, recognises the mental health aspects of living with difficult symptoms, gives guidance on when and how to return to work. Additionally, the handbook gives links to creditable agencies and support services.  .

Let's look at the Aims and Outcomes

The aim of this course is to: improve your understanding of Long Covid, guide you on some techniques that can assist to ease some of the symptoms and enable you to return to some aspects of normal day to day life. 


Outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Know some of the terms used in association with long Covid
  • Recognise some of the symptoms – the range and extent
  • Know what symptoms must be checked out medically
  • Recognise 2 of the most limiting symptoms
  • Have some techniques to manage both fatigue and breathlessness
  • Understand when it is appropriate to consider return to work
  • Be able to consider temporary work modifications that could assist return to work
  • Know who to have conversations with about return to work
  • Have resources for further advice and guidance
